Recycling Art Mini Camp: Turning Trash into Treasure!

Week 1: Welcome to Camp & Birdhouse Bonanza!
Objective: Kick off camp with fun, teamwork, and eco-friendly creativity!Project: Birdhouse BuildingUsing milk cartons, cardboard, or plastic bottles.Adventure: Nature walk to observe birds and discuss habitats.Materials: Cardboard, milk cartons, plastic bottles, glue, string, paint.Takeaway: Kids place their birdhouses outside and observe birds using them.


Week 2: Musical Magic & Storytelling Through Sound
Objective: Explore movement and sound through upcycled materials.Project: Tin Can Wind ChimesDecorating tin cans, old keys, beads, and bottle caps to create musical wind chimes.Camp Fun: Dance and movement games inspired by sound and rhythm.Materials: Tin cans, bottle caps, old keys, string, paint.Takeaway: Kids listen for the sounds their wind chimes make at home.


Week 3: Growing Green—Eco-Friendly Planters & Garden Fun!
Objective: Learn about sustainability and plant life.Project: Plastic Bottle PlantersTurning bottles into fun, animal-shaped planters.Camp Fun: Gardening activity—planting seeds and caring for plants.Materials: Plastic bottles, paint, markers, soil, small plants or seeds.Takeaway: Kids care for their plants and track their growth.


Week 4: Wearable Art—Camp Fashion & DIY Fun!
Objective: Create personalized fashion using recycled materials.Project: No-Sew T-Shirts & Beaded JewelryMaking tote bags from old T-shirts.Rolling magazine paper beads for bracelets.Camp Fun: Fashion show—kids show off their creations!Materials: Old T-shirts, scissors, fabric markers, magazines, glue.Takeaway: Kids use their new tote bags and jewelry at home.


Week 5: Trash to Treasure—Creative Collages & Camp Art Show Prep!
Objective: Express creativity through recycled materials.Project: Recycled Collage MasterpiecesLayering magazine clippings, newspaper, buttons, and fabric to create unique art.Camp Fun: Art scavenger hunt—finding patterns and colors in nature.Materials: Magazines, newspaper, fabric scraps, buttons, bottle caps, glue.Takeaway: Kids bring home an original piece of artwork.


Week 6: Camp Showcase & Celebration!

This mini art camp meets three times a week, offering a fun, hands-on way for kids to explore art and sustainability while making new friends.
