The Ballroom Thieves return to LangLab South Bend. This three piece -- Martin Earley, Calin Peters, and Devin Mauch -- brought the house down last fall. Join us in welcoming them back to South Bend! In this increasingly virtual world of ours, what makes music authentic? For some, songs are no more than tiny sentimental decompressions. But others treat music as an extension of their roots, a mirror of their travels and relationships, and a testament to both their craft and passion. For The Ballroom Thieves, the band’s journey has only just begun, but their roots already run quite deep. Now, on A Wolf in the Doorway the Thieves find themselves taking the very idea of “roots” and creating ways to make its associated sound progress, while making its encompassing spirit glow.

Listen:

Opener: Maggie Koerner

It’s not uncommon to find Maggie performing on stage with a list of iconic acts that has included Widespread Panic, Gov’t Mule and Charles Bradley, to name a few. The Shreveport born singer-songwriter spent the majority of 2013 and 2014 as the lead singer and front-woman for legendary New Orleans’ funk-band Galactic.

Spending 2015 on the road and in the studio, Maggie performed with her own band at a list of major North American music festivals including New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Austin City Limits and Pemberton Music Festival to name a few.

Set for release in Fall 2016, Maggie recently finished her “Dig Down Deep (EP)”, produced by esteemed UK producer Fink (Amy Winehouse, John Legend, Banks).
